Nopeming Sanatorium is a former tuberculosis hospital and later nursing home located in Midway Township outside of Duluth, Minnesota. On February 3, 1958, something started popping bottles in a ranch house at 1648 Redwood Path in Seaford, Long Island. It wasn't one bottle; it was dozens in different rooms, with the family watching. For the next five weeks, Nassau County Police kept a file on it. A detective was assigned full-time. Duke University sent investigators. Reporters slept overnight.
